ABOUT US

Originally conceived in the early 1980s at the Kentisbury Grange holiday Park Devon, the Kentisbury weeks were Advertised in Exchange & Mart, the internet at that time was not available to many, so the owners at that time reached out to the trans community, filling this small venue for 2 weeks twice a year. This event ran for some years until due to the recession Barney & Dorine had to call time, and the Kentisbury Grange was put up for sale and we had to find a new home.
After some years of searching some of the girls approached The St Audries Park Holiday camp in West Quantox Somerset about halfway between Bridgewater and Minehead.

We had a new home

Our time at St Audries was a time of fun games and helping new girls to take their first steps out in public, we made many friends in the local community and were welcomed at local bars The Esplanade Club in Watchet, Pebbles Watchet and Sunday roast at The Windmill WestQuantox A39. We Spent many years 22 in all enjoying the local area, with coach trips out which always finished with a buffet at the Esplanade Club, and a walk around the stalls on market day.

We also had the pleasure of Stacy Novak from Trans living attending these weeks in the early days with her friend selling all sorts of Hair jewelry and other essential products, when this became to much lugging thing about for Stacy, we were lucky to find Lynn Ash of Lynns Tv Fashions and Lynn along with Cassie King kept us supplied with tights stockings ,and Cassie would bring here stock of wonderful wigs , her girls as Cassie would call them. Torrill Roberts would attend when she could to help girls with make up, these were very special times and will alway be missed by those that enjoyed these weeks at St Audries.

Then along came Covid for 2 years we were not able to meet as the Kentisbury Group at St Audries, this was upsetting for many as these weeks were their only opportunity to be who they wanted to be in a place they loved, some members coming from as far as Europe. But we could go for breaks with limited access to the camp facilities due to restrictions in place in the latter part of those 2 years of Covid.
Then came the news no one wanted to hear, St Audries had brought forward plans to sell off its rental fleet and the chalets we affectionately called the potting sheds to make room for more cabins.

We were again Homeless,
But not for long.

The organisers at this point in time put a lot of time, personal holiday and money into a Year of finding another home that Home is the largest venue we have had to date, boasting some fantastic on site entertainment for those that are not yet ready to venture out in public, but at the same time involving the public if there curious and want to come and share our weeks. We have always made these weeks inclusive, we feel that by making a week exclusive creates, a them and us sinareio, which is not healthy if we want to be accepted, and live our lives in the way we wish.
We are proud to have caravan owners from our old homes that regularly attend our weeks, and treat us all with dignity, love and friendships that have lasted for many years.
Holiday Resort Unity, has facilities to accommodate all levels of Trans girls/women, with a small venue for the girls that are nervous with a private session in the large indoor pool with slide tubes, and larger venue for those that want to be out there and strut their stuff and just book into the pool if they wish.
We hope this venue will grow and grow with more girls making their first steps out into the world to enjoy who they are and allow others to also get to know them without prejudice, and in a controlled environment, with over 30 years of Kentisbury weeks and many more to come As Trans-vacation we are possibly the longest running full week Trans Event in the Southwest.
We are proud to be a part of the LGBT family, and hope you will enjoy any time you spend with us no matter how short that time may be, you’ll always be welcome..
